Real Food…Really Good

Farm Visits

When I was 17 years old my mom took me to the Dane County Farmers Market in Madison, Wisconsin.  It was there that my passion for food began.  I fell in love with the farmers and their stories.   Carrots did not come in a plastic bag on a shelf at the grocery store.  They were cared for and respected by the person that was now handing them to me.

I love to visit farms and farmer’s markets.  I seek them out whenever I travel to a new place or revisit an old one.  As I speak to farmers, walk on their soil and get a small glimpse into their lives,  I am continually impressed by their dedication.

As each chef has a different style of cooking, farmers too have different styles of farming.  With every farmer comes a passionate story about the land they farm and the animals they raise.

It gives me great pleasure to share with you the wonderful people I have met along the way and express their stories of love for their land.
